Journalism in Nigeria often fails at the most basic job: follow-up and accountability. I watched Seun Okinbaloye interview NASRDA DG, he claimed “I know for a fact” that terrorists communicate via satellite platforms, not regular mobile networks. But instead of pressing him for specifics, Seun immediately said they needed to go for a break. They came back from the break and the conversation moved on from that claim with no real interrogation. That’s how serious claims get aired, go viral, and still leave the audience with zero verifiable detail.
