the reason why discipline never works for you. the reason your discipline keeps failing is because discipline was never the problem. you're trying to force yourself to do things you believe are hard. things you believe you don't like. things you believe require "discipline". and you keep falling off. i'll explain exactly why this happens and how you fix it. because if you have to keep forcing yourself to do "hard" things, you're playing a losing game. you see, everyone operates from their own belief system. this has been programmed by things you were told as a kid, trauma, real life events,... e.g: you lived your entire life with your mom, barely having any money. you now have an installed belief that getting money is hard. real life event + trauma (maybe) got it? good. you're mind has one primary job. it's not growth. it's protection. and it will do everything it can to protect the beliefs that are already installed. so, when you try to be "disciplined" while holding beliefs like: - I'm not consistent - I'm bad at talking to girls - I need motivation your mind will fight back. and it's not because you're weak, but because your brain will do everything to prove your beliefs right. that's why motivation spikes fade away. that's why you keep falling off people always tell you to be more disciplined. to push harder. to wake up earlier. but only using discipline is just like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. you need to look at the root of the problem. which is your belief system. because belief always beats discipline. fix your belief system and action will become effortless. when your identity shifts from "this is hard" to "this is normal" discpline becomes irrelevant. going to the gym stops feeling like an effort. working stops feeling like restistance. consistency stops requiring discipline. you don't need "discipline" to eat, drink, brush your teeth,... right? it's just normal. you do them without even thinking. that's because your belief system sees these things as normal. look, the goal isn't to discipline yourself for eternity. the goal is to rebuild the beliefs that decide what feels natural to you. once you do this, everything that used to feel hard becomes automatic. and discipline quietly dissapears, because it's no longer needed. - KJ
