you can ship a new business idea with $0. and still get 6616 opus 4.5 requests per month for free. using open source projects and startup programs, i haven't paid for basically anything i use for the last 2 years. that includes ai coding agents and ai api usage. if you're ready, let me walk you through it. 1. first, you apply to the notion startup program. not because you want 6 months of notion. the real reason is the notion perks deal-book. once you get accepted, notion unlocks their partner perk list for free, and you can use those partner codes to get more free stuff. 2. after you get into notion, you use the partner code to apply for the $5k aws credit from their list and keep it in your pocket. you can use it for servers, and you can also use anthropic models via aws bedrock with the api. up to $5k, $0 out of pocket. 3. then you also apply to github enterprise from the notion list. github is changing their startup plan this week. now they give you $10k in credit. you can use it wherever you want. but where are we using it, copilot. you go grab github enterprise copilot. $39/month. that gives you 1000 ai messages. if you want opus 4.5, each message counts as 3x. so that's roughly 333 opus 4.5 messages in the bag. and the wild part is the $10k credit also covers overage (insane). so if you're solo (if you're 2 friends, split it), and you subtract the $39/month base copilot enterprise from the credit, you still have about $794/month of github credit just sitting there for a year. each extra opus 4.5 request is worth $0.12. so you can send 6616 more opus 4.5 requests every month. add the base package and you get 6949 opus 4.5 requests total. free for 1 year. and if you're like "i'm not using opus 4.5, i'm using sonnet 4.5 or gpt 5.2", then your messages count 1x instead of 3x. that's 20847 messages per month. unreal. 4. ok, you got your server from aws, and your ai coding agent is basically free. enough? not enough. you apply to google cloud startup. a few days later, google also gave us a $2k credit valid for 1 year. gemini 3 pro, nano banana, whatever you want, you can use this credit. you're not paying for ai api usage, just ship your mvp however you want. 5. from the notion list, you jump to datadog. $100k credit for 1 year. hook up all your servers, monitor everything. free, man. 6. want customer support. intercom charges in most places. if you're like "i'm gonna add a chatbot to my site and do this properly", apply to intercom from the notion list. if you apply via notion, you pay $0 for 1 year. year two is 50% off whatever plan you pick. 7. if you want to track logs and see errors, sentry gives you $5k credit too. you can connect mobile apps and web apps. 8. now posthog. my favorite. apply to the posthog startup program, grab $50k credit. you won't finish it. even if you run analytics on 10 apps, you still won't finish it. it beats up basically every other analytics tool. best part, if you get into the program, they send you a hat and a t-shirt. they literally ship posthog merch from the us to turkey. crazy. 9. then you go to algolia. apply to algolia's startup program and they give you $10k in algolia credit. great if you use it. if you don't, even better, because algolia has its own perk list. from there you go to digitalocean and get $5k credit. now if you want, run all your servers on digitalocean and use the aws credit mostly for bedrock api usage. 10. and again from the algolia list, you go to linear. grab the linear credit, manage your projects cleanly, and you're done. what more do you want. in 10 steps, i explained how you can bring a business idea to life for $0 for 1-2 years. these perk lists have even more stuff, so pick what fits your needs. and yeah, fill out the application forms with gpt. hope this helps. #buildinpublic #indiedev
