@pawel_lasek @caballerobrah Maybe? But immediate, transparent, plug-it-in-and-it-works was pretty much the point. So mDNS was and is a good thing… so good every platform today ships with it (Avahi etc.) Honestly, I think a lot of the issues were Linux sysadmins saying “we don’t WANT ad-hoc networking on our networks.” Technically, ZeroConf works great; DNS-SD works great; mDNS works great. But networking is at least as political as it is technical.
