@vZeroG @ikebear2008 @houstonairw For starters, judges need to stop giving multiple PR bonds to repeat offenders. The mayor and city council can put more police officers on the street. State legislatures can pass laws that don’t allow judges to give bond to repeat offenders. I’m tired of victims of crime not having a voice or support. Beyond that, we could push for stricter sentencing guidelines for property crimes, especially those involving tourists or vulnerable groups, to deter smash-and-grab thefts. Local leaders could fund community programs like better lighting in parking lots, more surveillance in high-risk areas, and partnerships with apps for real-time crime reporting. On the victim side, expand support services—things like expedited passport replacement for stolen documents, counseling for trauma, or even a victim advocacy hotline tied to the DA’s office. The people of Harris County need to get educated on local judges and vote out the bad ones. And the HCRP needs to get its act together and run good qualified candidates. Houston’s got the resources; it’s time to prioritize safety over leniency.
