I grew up loving magic. My dad taught me card tricks and sleight of hand, and I was hooked on the simple idea that you could do one thing while the world saw another. It sparked imagination, curiosity, and a sense that anything was possible. I dont know if kids still love that kind of magic today, but it feels like we have reached a new type of magic. The magical experiences of AI. You can see it in tools like @splice, which helps creators turn rough audio into real music. @boldvoiceapp, which coaches non native English speakers toward clearer and more confident speech using AI feedback. And @talktasticAI, which turns messy thoughts into polished writing right inside your everyday apps. It still kind of blows my mind how fast this all is moving. Some of this magic will turn out to be illusions. But some of it will be real and will lift humanity in a serious way. Healthier, saner, happier, more creative, more productive in our work and our lives. I recently backed a product that blends AI, community and communication to save the lives of people struggling with addiction. Addiction destroys so many. Through the right kind of tech, real lives are being saved every day. That is magic. I’m hosting a dinner with that founder, @kobyjconrad, tonight in New York City. I can’t wait for him to share some of that magic with the other dinner guests. If you are building AI for human potential, or what I like to call true magic, I want to meet you.
