Sri Lanka doesn’t have an innovation problem. Sri Lanka has a permission problem. We are overflowing with talent, ideas, and people willing to build. What we lack is an operating environment where execution is allowed to happen. A growing challenge is the rise of the “PhD bureaucracy”—highly educated, academically accomplished individuals who, in practice, block innovation, over-intellectualize simple problems, and slow execution to a crawl. Degrees are valuable. Expertise is valuable. But expertise without action becomes a barrier. Sri Lanka will move forward only when: We value doers as much as talkers We reward teams that deliver, not committees that delay We create room for experimentation instead of defending status quo We stop mistaking endless meetings for progress This is not about individuals. This is about a culture that stalls our best efforts. If Sri Lanka wants transformation, we must rebuild our operating culture around trust, speed, and empowered execution. Because innovation doesn’t die from lack of knowledge. Innovation dies when people who can build are forced to wait for people who only talk about building. Let’s fix that. #BuildSriLanka #SystemChange
